Sanitary workers get welfare board membership cards

KANCHEEPURAM: The Tamilnadu Sanitary Workers’ Welfare Board membership cards were distributed to 40 sanitary workers of the Kancheepuram Municipality, as part of the Local Body Day celebrations held here on Saturday. Distributing the cards to the workers, General Manager of Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Development Corporation S. Seran, said that while accident insurance cover was extended to the direct beneficiaries, the workers, their family members could avail themselves of a host of financial assistance such as education allowance, maternity allowance etc., under the scheme.

Apart from this, a member of the welfare board automatically becomes eligible to avail himself of loans from THADCO and could also get loans from banking institutions.
