Miscellaneous - This Day That Age

dated November 5, 1958: Geneva talks

Britain, the United States and the Soviet Union began the third meeting of their nuclear tests suspension conference in Geneva on November 4. The Western delegates met to study ways of breaking the present deadlock over agenda priorities contained in drafts submitted by the United States and the Soviet Union on November 3. The conference to-date has recorded only one East-West agreement. The delegates on November 3 unanimously decided that their negotiations should be officially called the “Conference on the discontinuance of nuclear weapon tests.”
