Sun Pharma arm receives warning letter

MUMBAI: Caraco Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Sun Pharma, on Tuesday said it had received a warning letter from the USFDA over the company’s manufacturing facility in Detroit.

Inadequate and untimely investigation by the quality control unit of certain incidents are contrary to the company’s standard operating procedures, the USFDA said in its letter dated October 31.

The USFDA inspection was held in May 2008. Sun Pharma holds 76 per cent in Caraco Pharmaceuticals and it is listed in the New York Stock Exchange.

Caraco said it would respond to the USFDA within 15 days. — PTI
