Auspicious start: MLA K. Gopinath inaugurating works on B.T. Road at Bagalor Adi Dravidar Colony on Tuesday. – Photo:N. Bashkaran HOSUR: Hosur MLA K. Gopinath inaugurated development works to the tune of Rs. 15.10 lakh from his constituency development fund for the financial year 2008-09 here on Tuesday. He allocated Rs. 9.50 lakh for laying black top road at Adi Dravidar Colony in Bagalur, Rs. 2.90 lakh for developing a burial ground, Rs. 1. lakh for construction of a compound wall at Urdu school and Rs. 0.70 lakh for the construction of a kitchen shed. And, Rs. 1 lakh for construction of a bus shelter at Bagalur circle. The Congress MLA fulfilled a long-pending demand of the Adi Dravidar Colony in Bagalur, say local residents. Residents of the colony had approached Mr. Gopinath about their difficulties. The inauguration of schemes brought cheer on the faces of locals; they welcomed the MLA by bursting crackers and distributing sweets. Mr. Gopinath also asked for a drinking water scheme from Kelevarapalli Dam for Hosur, which is facing acute water shortage, from Local Administration Minister M.K.
