UPA failed in maintaining law and order: BJP

‘Country witnessing perilous situation with threat to its unity’

‘It is being divided on the basis of caste, religion’

HYDERABAD: Senior BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday asked party leaders and cadres to gear themselves up to fight the UPA-constituent parties.

He was addressing a meeting organised by the BJP Greater Hyderabad unit, preparatory to the visit of L.K. Advani, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, in connection with his ‘Vijaysankalp Yatra’.

Mr. Naidu lashed out at UPA for being ineffective in maintaining law and order and shielding organisations, like SIMI and HUJI, thus encouraging terrorist activities.

The country was witnessing a dangerous situation with a threat to its unity and integrity. It was being divided on the basis of caste, religion, language and region, he regretted.

“Independent India has never seen such a weak Prime Minister, a weak government and a weak coalition”, he declared. The UPA experiment had grossly failed, leading to social unrest across the nation.State BJP president B. Dattatreya asked cadres to launch a door-to-door campaign to improve public awareness on the need to oust the UPA and to make the November 13 ‘yatra’ a grand success, he said.

President of the party’s Greater Hyderabad unit, C. Ramachandra Reddy and party spokesperson N. Ramachander Rao spoke.
