NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday alleged that the benefits of the “Ladli” scheme of the Delhi Government were not reaching the people. Under the scheme, children born after January 1, 2008, are to be given Rs.1 lakh on completion of 18 years. He said only 9,024 applications had been received so far. “Three hundred and twenty-two applications have been rejected. By August 2008, 3,473 had been sanctioned. The remaining have been rejected. People are unable to apply as it requires a lot of paper work.” © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
