Andhra handicraft items on show

Quite a handful: An exhibition-cum-sale of handloom and handicrafts from Andhra Pradesh, ’LePakshi’ opened at the Gangothri Hall in the city on Wednesday.

KOCHI: An exhibition cum sale of Andhra Pradesh handicrafts opened at the Gangothri Kalyanamandapam here on Wednesday. The show—LePakshi —is organised by the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation and will be on till November 17. The timings are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on all days.

Items on display include handwoven saris from Pochampalli,Gadwal, Narayanapet, Mangalagiri and rich south Indian silks. Hyderabad printed saris, Maheswari and Kanta works saris are also on show.

Handloom cotton dhurries from Warangal, crochet lace from Narasapur, Hyderabadi pearls and jewellery items are also displayed in the show. There are an array of Khadi and silk cloth, towels and napkins.

The show is offering special discount of 10 per cent on handicrafts and 20 per cent on handlooms.
