Special programme: ‘Caught on Safari: Live’ begins on National Geographic channel this Sunday.

NEW DELHI: Bringing live action from South Africa’s renowned Kruger National Park is a weeklong special programme on National Geographic channel beginning this coming Sunday.

“Caught on Safari: Live” will offer animal lovers and conservationists four hours of one-on-one encounters with the majestic creatures everyday. Broadcasted live from the Nwanetsi Concession in Singita located inside the Kruger National Park, the series will capture the beautiful landscape in which lions thrive along with buffaloes, leopards, elephants and white and black rhinos.

Experienced game rangers and wildlife trackers will give their own version about life in the jungle. They will speak about important conservation issues in Africa as well as give details on specific initiatives taking place inside the well-known park.

Shedding light on the series, Rajesh Sheshadri of National Geographic Channel said the series would be a rewarding experience as it would enable viewers to be a part of wildlife encounters in real time. “Viewers from anywhere in the world can observe and experience a great wealth of information by the game guide coupled with the anticipation of what a safari can offer,” he added.

To wire the wild for a close look at life in the animal kingdom, cameras will be placed at watering holes around the park and other locations. Mobile cameras on trucks will also accompany the guides as they track various animals. Every technique used will be designed to non-invasively capture animals at home in their natural element. As the safari guide, the series will present an incredible and unpredictable look at animal behaviour, inspiring resiliency and wildlife survival that can only be captured live.
