Anusha bags a double

HYDERABAD: Anusha bagged a double winning the high jump and the 400m hurdles events on the final day of the Osmania University inter-college athletic meet here on Wednesday.

Results: Women: 200m: 1. Shoba Rani (Kasturba) 26.40, 2. Ramasarvani (OU Women), 3. K. Mrudula (Kasturba);

High jump: 1. Anusha (St. Ann’s) 1.40 m, 2. Hemalatha (GCPE), 3. Amitha (Kasturba);

hammer throw: 1. M. Keerthi (Kasturba) 23.85 m, 2. Raghavi (Rishi College), 3. Parameshwari (St. Ann’s);

400m hurdles: 1. Anusha (St. Ann’s) 1:12.30, 2. A. Preeti (St. Ann’s), 3. Y. Harini (Stanley).

Best athletes: Men: E. Gopi (Pratisha College, Ibrahimpatnam); Women: Ramasarvani (OU Women’s College).

Team championship: Men: 1. Railway Degree College, 2. GCPE, Domalguda, 3. Govt Degree College (Medak).

State Open chess

Brilliant Chess Academy will organise the 30th Brilliant Trophy State open chess tournament on November 8 and 9 on its premises.

Football referees course

District Sports Authority of Hyderabad in association with All India Football Federation will organise referees course at Gymkhana Grounds in January 2009 for six days.

The applicants should be in the age group of 18 to 30 years and possess a minimum qualification of SSC.
