NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old man allegedly wanted in several cases of dacoity in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested in South Delhi. The police claim to have seized a country-made pistol and three live cartridges from him. The police received a tip-off that Shakeel, who along with his accomplices had allegedly committed two dacoities in Sikandarabad earlier this year, would come to Jor Bagh in the Capital on Tuesday. Subsequently a team led by the Station House Officer of the Lodhi Colony police station, Rajender Singh, laid a trap and arrested him. However, his accomplice managed to flee. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
