PANCHKULA: Hamish Marshall notched up a stroke-filled unbeaten 80 as Royal Bengal Tigers cruised to a nine-wicket victory over Chennai Superstars and booked a berth in the semifinals of the Indian Cricket League here on Tuesday. Electing to bat, Chennai Superstars made 161 in 19.5 overs with Hemang Badani and R. Satish scoring half-centuries. The Tigers’s run-chase was a smooth affair. With this win, it is now at the second spot even though tying with the table-topper Superstars on 10 points. The opening pair of Marshall and Deep Dasgupta gathered 132 runs. Marshall hitting eight 4s and three 6s. Dasgupta played the anchor role before switching gears to get 54. Earlier, Badani and Satish played some entertaining shots to take Superstars to a respectable total. Satish struck three sixes and five boundaries in his 50. Badani, on the other hand, hit six fours and a six to gather 55 runs. But, Chandana brought the Tigers back into the game claiming three wickets off four balls in the 19th over.
