Lahiri in lead

BANGALORE: Anirban Lahiri shot a superb seven under 65 to establish a course record and take a two-stroke lead in the first round of round of the Toyota Altis Open Championship at the Eagleton Golf Resort at Bidadi near here on Wednesday. Lahiri, currently 16th on the PGTI Order of Merit, capitalised on the home course advantage to the hilt with an outstanding display.

The first round scores (top five): Anirban Lahiri (65), C. Muniyapa and Rajiv Niranjan Datar (67); Mukesh Kumar, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Rahul Ganapathy (68); Harendra Gupta (69); Vinod Kumar and B.G. Lalith Kumar, Chirag Kumar, Md. Siddikur Rahman, Ranjit Singh, Gaurav Diwan, Gurki Shergil, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Vivek Bhandari, Dinesh Kumar and Raj Randhawa (70).
