Somdev in quarterfinals

New Delhi: Indian Davis Cupper Somdev Dev Varman overcame a tough challenge from American Sam Warburg to storm into the quarterfinals of the $75,000 ATP Challenger event in Nashville, USA.

Somdev, ranked 241, beat 161-ranked Warburg 7-6(1), 7-6(3) in the second round of the hard court event.

Meanwhile, in the doubles competition, Davis Cupper Harsh Mankad and National champion Ashutosh Singh booked a quarterfinal berth after beating the local wild card pair of Colt Gaston and Scoville Jenkins 7-6(5), 6-1. — PTI
