VIJAYAWADA: Krishna district Collector N. Sridhar on Thursday asked officials to take steps to complete the construction of houses sanctioned in the first and second phases of Indiramma programme by this month end. He inspected the implementation of the housing scheme at Kankipadu, Penamaluru and Vuyyuru mandals and reviewed the implementation of other welfare activities under the Indiramma programme. Advising the officials to focus on providing facilities like electricity, drinking water and roads in the colonies where houses under Indiramma programme have been constructed, Mr. Sridhar said that for the SC and ST beneficiaries of the first and second phases of the housing scheme, houses could be completed under the ‘Sampurthi’ scheme. He asked the officials to convene a meeting with 100 beneficiaries from Kankipadu division, for whom the houses were sanctioned but were yet to be constructed, and take necessary steps to take up the construction immediately. At Gudavalli village, Mr. Sridhar advised the officials to hand over the nine acres of land, which was acquired by the government for the housing scheme, to the beneficiaries. Later, he visited Chalivendrapalem village of Kankipadu mandal, where he interacted with the beneficiaries of Indiramma programme. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
