Ashoka tops ‘B’ division

NEW DELHI: Ashoka Club defeated Collegians Club 2-1 to top the ‘B’ division in the DSA football league here. The win carried Ashoka to ‘A’ division.

Trailing by a goal knocked in by Ashok, Ashoka Club equalised through a header by Aneeket Barua, the reserve goalkeeper sent in as a forward 10 minutes from the end. In quick time the winner came from Pradeep Kumar off a cross by Nimish Yadav.

In a one-sided encounter, Friends United defeated State Bank of India 3-0. Sahil (2) and Purab were the scorers.

In another match, Veterans and Cosmos were locked 1-1 while Moonlight and Delhi Cantt shared points from a 1-1 draw.
