Mayur Vasant in final

MUMBAI: Mayur Vasant and D.S. Rama Rao continued their fine run to enter the finals of the 45-plus and 55-plus events at the 2nd GVK-AISTA senior National ranking tennis championship 2008, played at Practennis on Saturday.

Mayur blanked R.E. Sudarshan Rao 6-0, 6-0 for a title clash against Srinivasa Reddy. Rama Rao won 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 over Pushapraj and will face TN’s S. Settu in the final.

The results (semifinals): 45-plus: Mayur Vasant bt R. Sudarshna Rao 6-0, 6-0; Y. Srinivasa Reddy bt Yogesh Shah 7-5, 6-2.

55-plus: D.S. Rama Rao bt Pushparaj 6-2, 6-7(6), 6-3; S. Settu bt K. Krishna Murthy 6-1, 6-4.

65-plus: S. Parekh bt Shyam Bhagat 7-6(4), 6-1; V.R. Kulkarni bt M. Krishna Swamy 6-1, 6-3.
