Guwahati: The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate , Kamrup (Metropolitan) on Saturday remanded an accused in the October 30 serial blasts — Rajjib Sainary for 10 days in police custody. Sainary was arrested from lower Assam’s Bagsa district on charges of providing SIM card of a cell phone that was allegedly used by another accused Dinesh Boro for making calls relating to the blast. Police had also picked up six persons from lower Assam’s Barpeta district for questioning in connection with the serial blasts. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi told journalists that so far five persons have been arrested and 31 have been questioned in connection with the blasts. He, however, declined to divulge the names of those arrested and interrogated. Muslim clerics of the state, on the other hand issued fatwa against terrorism saying that those indulging in terrorist activities have no place in Islam and anyone indulging in such activities would be treated as non-Muslim.
