YSR to visit Mahabubnagar today

MAHABUBNAGAR: The district headquarters town of Mahabubnagar wore a festive look with Congress flags and huge welcome arches arranged in connection with Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekara Reddy’s visit to the town on Sunday.

The Chief Minister will lay foundation stones and inaugurate many developmental activities costing over Rs. 100 crore within a span of four-and-half hours including Palamoor University, according to district Collector V. Usharani.

Briefing mediapersons about the Chief Minister’s programme here on Saturday, she informed that the Chief Minister will also interact with the university students, members of self-help groups and members of the municipal council.

Dr. Reddy will address a public meeting at Boys Junior College ground in the afternoon and also inaugurate a job mela. About 3,000 unemployed youth will be absorbed by 15 private companies she said.

The Collector further informed that the Chief Minister will distribute loans to the tune of Rs. 70 crore. She also informed that the district was in the race for ‘Sarvotham’ award which would be presented by the Centre.
