Concerts will be held at Alliance Francaise Call Ph: 41623810 or 41623909 for free seats Bangalore: “The Piano Symphony”, starting on November 13, promises a treat for connoisseurs of music. The three-day event will feature Madhavachari, a renowned jazz musician from India, who will perform on November 13; a solo classical piano concert by Heinrich K. Weihrauch on November 14 and solo performances by the students of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and Trinity Guildhall on November 15. The concerts will be held at Alliance Francaise. Considered one of India’s strongest presences in the international music scene, Madhavachari has studied and interacted with six-time Grammy nominee Kenny Barron, saxophonist composer Henry Threadgill, and more recently with multiple Grammy-winning and Pulitzer Prize-winning jazz composer Wynton Marsalis, and has performed in Paris in 2005 with Grammy-winning jazz saxophonist composer David Murray. ProjectHis experimental project “Nomadic Subjects” was featured in the documentary “Desi: The South Asian Immigrant Experience in New York” and he was the only musician-composer featured from the subcontinent. He is based in India and performs internationally while studying Indian music and philosophy. Dr. Weihrauch has performed in concerts across Germany, Austria and France. He now lives in Auroville where he teaches piano. He has performed at many concerts in Chennai and Bangalore as a solo pianist and with the Trio of Auroville. Amintha Francesca Jayant and Romina D’Souza from ABRSM, twins Dipti and Divya Angelo and Linan Sue from Trinity Guildhall will perform. The event has been organised by Furtados Music India Private Ltd., a music instrument retailing store.
