Businessman killed in car-bus collision

A Puducherry-bound bus hit

East Coast Road

CHENNAI: A 40-year-old businessman from Thousand Lights was killed after the car he was driving collided head-on with a government bus on East Coast Road on Saturday.

Police said Mohammed Shameerullah, a card board dealer, was returning from Kovalam when the accident happened. When he tried to overtake a bus in Reddy Kuppam, Kannathur, a bus bound for Puducherry collided with his car.

He sustained serious injuries and was taken to a private hospital in Adyar, where he died later, the police said.
