Man arrested

BANGALORE: The Sampigehalli police have arrested Rajanna of Hennur who allegedly financed two transsexuals who have been arrested for kidnapping a 16-year-old boy and changing his sex.

The police said Rajanna had given Rs. 65,000 to Basavaraj alias Mangala (26) and Madhu alias Baby (20) for changing the sex of the 16-year-old boy.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Basavaraj Malagatti said Rajanna was giving Rs. 15,000 for change of sex and Rs. 65,000 for implanting breasts. “Every day, he used to collect Rs. 200 from the accused,” Mr. Malagatti said. Around 200 transsexuals have taken money from him, he added. The police have also booked Rajanna for allegedly lending money without having a licence. The police have recovered his account books and ledgers.

The Basaveshwaranagar police have arrested four persons allegedly involved in the assault of an electrical contractor Nagaraj in Shivanahalli on November 3. The police gave the names of the accused as Ramesh, Ravi Kumar, Nagesh and Sachin. The police said the accused had taken Rs. 5 lakh as “supari” from Muniraju for the job, who is reportedly at large.
