U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has made his intentions clear on not intending to make a change and, instead, adhering to follow the decades-old U.S. policy on Kashmir. Whether you have a Democratic or Republican president, the U.S. administration has a penchant for tilting towards Pakistan and internationalising a bilateral issue. His reported intention to appoint a Special Ambassador to deal with the Kashmir issue is totally unwarranted. Mr. Obama’s pet idea is a gross interference in the internal affairs of India. Patriotic Indians are proud of External Affair Minister’s blunt reply to Washington to keep off Kashmir. T. Raju, Secunderabad Sreekaryam, Thiruvananthapuram © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
