Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Obama and India

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has made his intentions clear on not intending to make a change and, instead, adhering to follow the decades-old U.S. policy on Kashmir. Whether you have a Democratic or Republican president, the U.S. administration has a penchant for tilting towards Pakistan and internationalising a bilateral issue. His reported intention to appoint a Special Ambassador to deal with the Kashmir issue is totally unwarranted. Mr. Obama’s pet idea is a gross interference in the internal affairs of India. Patriotic Indians are proud of External Affair Minister’s blunt reply to Washington to keep off Kashmir.

Many policies that Mr. Obama proposed during his campaign were against Indians. His stand on outsourcing is a great blow to the BPO companies. So is his stance on the Kashmir issue.
