Bank officers’ demand

KOCHI: The national convention of women officers of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation which concluded here, has demanded that the government reduce the prices of petroleum products.

In a resolution adopted by the convention, the organisation said the prices of commodities were rising and the petrol prices were not reduced despite the cut in international prices. AIBOC all-India president V. Easwaran chaired the meeting.

The convention wanted the government to nationalise private banks belonging to the old generation Aruna Agnihotri was elected the new chairperson of the women’s wing. Uma Subramaniam is the new vice-chairperson. Pushpa G. Kumar is the new secretary, according to a press release.
