More land for city airport

HYDERABAD: The State Cabinet on Monday decided to transfer 426 acres of land belonging to Visakhapatnam Port Trust to the Vizag airport. It adopted a resolution to this effect in order to develop the airport with proper drainage facilities and a longer runway in order to tackle the problem of flooding during heavy rain. The port trust would be allotted an equivalent extent of land near Paravada and Bheemunipatnam, Information Minister A. Ramanarayan Reddy told reporters.
