Cotton sale begins

Karwar: The sale of cotton at Haliyal APMC has begun. Sources said here that a turnover of Rs. 12 crore is expected this year from the sale of cotton. Haliyal, once known for paddy cultivation, is slowly turning to cash crops such as cotton.

Farmers, who were depending on traditional crops, including paddy, are now happy that cotton is bringing additional profit to them.
