Collector orders pension for widow

KRISHNAGIRI: Collector V.K. Shanmugam gave the orders for widow pension to Ms. Muthumari of Edavanaalli village in Denkanikottai taluk on Monday.

Mr. Shanmugam spoke to the widow and her son, Raja, who was working as a child labourer before he was rescued by officials and brought to Krishnagiri Collectorate.

The collector then gave the pension order keeping in mind the family’s poor condition.

He also ordered the Child Labour Prevention Officer to admit Raja at the Thinnur Panchayat Union School and appealed to the officials and the general public to fight to eradicate child labour from the district.
