Women’s rights highlighted

SALEM: Activists and judicial officers have urged the women to be aware of various acts enacted to ensure their rights in society.

At a workshop on `Women’s Rights’ organised recently under the aegis of Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) here, Chief Judicial Magistrate K. Elayarani detailed the provisions of various acts such as Dowry Prohibition Act, Domestic Violence Act, Sexual Harassment at Work Place and Right to Information Act in which the rights of women had been ensured.

She asked the women to approach Social Welfare Department.
