Employees hail announcement

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Government Employees Union on Thursday welcomed the announcement of 7 per cent increase in dearness allowance. In a statement, K. Balasubramanian, its president, said the government had also announced payment of arrears in cash.

A. Chandrabose, vice-president, Tamil Nadu Government Officials’ Union, requested the government to announce implementation of pay scales equivalent to that offered by the Sixth Pay Commission. — Special Correspondent
