Singer injured in road accident

THANJAVUR: Chinnaponnu, who rendered the super-hit song ‘Nakkamukka’ in the film ‘Kadhalil Vizhundhen,’ and her husband Selvakumar were injured in a road accident near Kumbakonam on Thursday. They have been admitted to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital.

They were returning in a car from Chennai to Thanjavur when a transport corporation bus collided head on with the vehicle at Kovilachery.

The car driver died on the spot. — Special Correspondent
