Tributes paid to Nehru

KOZHIKODE: Political parties and children’s organisations among others paid tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on the occasion of his 119th birth anniversary here on Friday. KPCC general secretary P. Sankaran inaugurated the meeting held at the District Congress Committee office. DCC president K.C. Abu presided over the programme in which prominent Congress leaders of the city participated.

Forestry Board organised a programme at the Martyrs Column on the beach and paid floral tributes to Pandit Nehru. Board chairman M. Rajan presided. A colourful rally in which scores of children participated was taken out from the Government Model Higher Secondary School to the Town Hall under the aegis of the District Child Welfare Committee .
