Man kills wife and son, commits suicide

KOLAR: A man allegedly killed his wife and son and later committed suicide at Chokkareddi village in Srinivaspur taluk of Kolar district on Friday. The police gave the names of the deceased as Varalakshmi (22), Manju alias Aravind (3) and Srinivas (30).

Though, Srinivas stated in a suicide note that he suspected his wife’s fidelity, the parents of Varalakshmi alleged that dowry harassment was as reason for the tragedy.

In a police complaint, the parents of Varalakshmi alleged that Srinivas killed their daughter and grandson because of his greed for dowry. Based on the complaint, the police have arrested Narayanamma, mother of Srinivas.
