Sports quota admissions cleared

HYDERABAD: Justice L. Narasimha Reddy of the A.P High Court on Saturday directed the authorities of NTR University of Health Sciences to go ahead and complete admissions into MBBS course under sports quota. These orders were passed in a petition filed by the students.

However, the authorities of Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) did not issue the list of eligible sportspersons which resulted in the delay. The university took a stand that as the last date for admission is September 30 the admission cannot be done now.

The judge said that the students need not suffer due to the laxity of SAAP and gave permission to fill the seats.
