Dakshina Kannada bags championship

SHIMOGA: Dakshina Kannada won the overall championship in the three-day State-level “Pratibha Karanji 2008”, a cultural and academic competition for high school students, which ended here on Friday. Shimoga and Chikmagalur districts won the second and third places, respectively. Students from Dakshina Kannada won the first place in six competitions.

Nearly 2,000 students from across the State participated in the event.

The event was organised the Department of Public Instruction, district administration and the zilla panchayat.

Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey distributed prizes to the winners.
