Karunanidhi congratulates Prime Minister, ISRO

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi has congratulated Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, International Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman G. Madhavan Nair and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the successful landing of the Moon Impact Probe, a scientific instrument of the spacecraft Chandrayaan-1, on the lunar surface.

In his message to Dr. Singh, Mr. Karunanidhi said: “Under your able and dynamic leadership, the Indian scientists have made us proud.”

In a message to Mr. Nair, he said: “Under your inspiring and creative leadership, ISRO has realised the dream of every Indian.”

Mr. Karunanidhi wrote to Ms. Gandhi that he was very happy that on the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the scientists had successfully marked the country’s presence on the moon.

Through a poem, the Chief Minister expressed his admiration for the scientists.
