Brother, sister arrested in suicide case

Muzaffarnagar: A young woman and her brother have been arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of her 22-year-old lover.

This past Tuesday, Rajnish, the brother of the girl, allegedly caught a young man, Sanjay, with his sister in her room and locked him up there. Rajnish then called a panchayat on the issue, the police said on Saturday.

Out of sheer humiliation, Sanjay hanged himself from the ceiling fan. In an attempt to cover up the issue, Rajnish allegedly threw his body in a nearby forest, they said. However, the body was recovered on Saturday from Niyamu village in the area. - PTI
