CHENNAI: Prashob Nair of Wellington came from behind to shoot a five-over par 75 on Sunday and won the Category ‘A’ (U-17) in the MGC south zone junior golf championship here. Prashob, who had begun the day in fourth place, leapfrogged past first-day leader Yashas Chandra, who slid to third with a 13-over par 83. Aided by relenting winds, the second and final day witnessed marginally better scores by all players. In Category ‘B’ (U-14), Bangalore’s Syed Saqib Ahmed pipped Yashas Chandra by two strokes. Syed shaved nine strokes off his opening day’s card to finish at 80 (a total of 169). The results: Category ‘A’: 1. Prashob Nair (89, 75, 164), 2. Syed Saqib Ahmed (89, 80, 169), 3.
