Bangalore: For those who pack in 30 hours in 24, particularly young parents, mobile alerts are a good way of remembering things. “VacciDate” is one such alert launched by Airtel on Children’s Day. The service allows customers to set alerts for five basic vaccination dates, and two to four alerts can be set for each such date. These alerts will typically alert customers five days before the date of vaccination, a day before the date of vaccination and finally on the date of vaccination. Users can also query the system to check their kids’ next vaccination date. Another key feature of VacciDate is the special alert feature for Polio Sundays organised by the Government. All Airtel customers in Karnataka can subscribe to the VacciDate service free of cost and ensure that their children are vaccinated in time, according to an official press release here on Monday. Venkatesh V., Chief Executive Officer, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel, Karnataka, said, “In today’s fast-paced world, it has become even more important for parents, especially working couples, to keep track of their child’s vaccination dates. Recognising this fact, Airtel is happy to launch VacciDate, a unique vaccination alert system to mark this Children’s Day. We do hope our customers use this toll-free service.” © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
