Agricultural workers get warm reception

RASIPURAM: The Tamil Nadu ‘jatha’, being taken out by the All India Agricultural Workers Union to highlight various issues faced by farmers and the poor, received warm a reception at Sangagiri in Salem district and Tiruchengodu and Rasipuram in Namakkal district on Sunday.

Large number

A large number of agricultural workers from the district participated in the reception functions held here. All the team members were honoured.

The state committee member P. Ramasamy presided over the function.

Other participants

The All India general secretary and MP A. Vijayaraghavan, All India vice president D. Satthu and others took part.

A. Vijayaraghavan criticised the economic policies of Manmohan Singh government and the dangers posing the working class in recent times.

Destination

The Tamil Nadu ‘jatha’ and from other places of the country would culminate at Hyderabad on December 2.
