Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Welcome

The decision making it compulsory for the ICUs of every hospital to report cases of brain death to organ transplant procurement and distribution centres to be set up in each State is a great boost to cadaver transplantation. Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss deserves to be congratulated on the move. This is his second historical achievement after the banning of smoking in public places. The main challenge now lies in setting up procurement and distribution centres. The Hindu also deserves praise for prominently reporting matters relating to cadaver transplantation.

Dr. Rajan Ravichandran,

Chennai
