Rupee ends 33 paise lower

MUMBAI: The Indian rupee on Monday lost 33 paise against the dollar to end at 49.34/35 against 49.01/02 on Friday on heavy dollar buying by banks and a pick-up in demand from importers amid increased outflows from foreign funds.

The rupee opened lower at 49.08/09 a dollar. It later gyrated in a range of 49.35 and 48.78. — PTI
