Timothy in semifinals

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Top seed Rynold Timothy beat N.R. Abhilash 6-2, 6-1 to storm into the men’s singles semifinals of the 65th Trivandrum Open tennis tournament at the TTC courts here on Monday.

Also moving into the men’s singles semifinals were Binu Mani, G. Chandu and M.S. Sarathlal.

J.S. Arun Raj will meet G.L. Vivek in the boys under-18 final. In the semifinals, Arun Raj overcame a spirited fightback from R. Sriram 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 while G.L.Vivek crushed M.R. Sivakumar 6-3, 6-1.
