Marredpally Blues posts big win

State Bank of Hyderabad defeated Sastry Club 3-0 in the SAAP-Budweiser trophy Premier league football tournament.

Fared scored the first goal off a pass from Abidi in the 17th minute and then also scored the second by converting a spot kick. The third was a self goal by defender Vasu.

Tadban club thrashed GHMC Marredpally 8-1 in the GHMC hockey championship for juniors.

Ashwin Kumar and Ajay Kumar scored four goals each for Tadban while for GHMC Marredpally, the lone scorer was Vikram.

V. Jagadish with 8 points won the title in the Tatipally Gopala Krishna trophy prize money open chess tournament conducted by YMCA Narayanguda.

Anwar Ul Uloom College won the Osmania University inter-college carrom tournament by beating CBIT 3-0 in the final. Mudasar Ali beat Sanjeev 25-1, 25-4 while Irfan beat Girish 25-7, 25-19 and Sanaullah and Quadeer beat Naidu and Abhinay 15-25, 25-18, 25-15.

For third place, Bhavans College beat NB Science college 2-1.

Sunjay tennis academy will conduct a local tournament for boys and girls in the under-10, 12 and 14 age groups from November 21. Last date for entries is November 20. For details, call 27506800.

The District Basketball Association is conducting its annual mobile inter-school tournament for boys and girls in Visakhapatnam from November 27 to December 1.
