TIRUVARUR: Laksharchana will be performed from November 27 to Guru Bhagawan at Sri Aapathsahayeswara Swamy Temple, one of the Navagraha shrines, at Alangudi in the district, in connection with the ‘Guru Peyarchi’ that occurs at 10.48 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, when Guru Bhagawan (Jupiter) transits from Dhanur Rasi to Makara Rasi on that day. The district administration and the temple authorities are making elaborate arrangements for the devotees to worship Guru Bhagawan at the temple in Alangudi on December 6. The laksharchana to Guru Bhagawan will be performed in two phases, from November 27 to December 4 before the Guru Peyarchi and from December 11 to 22 after the transit. According to the executive officer of the temple, devotees could participate in the laksharchana pooja by paying Rs.125 directly or Rs.150 through Money Order or Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Executive Officer, Arulmigu Aapathsahayewara Swamy Temple, Alangudi-612801, Valangaiman taluk, Tiruvarur district by mentioning the name, birth star, Rasi, etc. Prasadam and a two-gram silver coin with the image of Guru Bhagawan will be provided to devotees participating in the laksharchana. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
