Bank inaugurated

Inaugurating the 520 branch of Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank at Muralinagar here on Monday, Chief General Manager of National Agricultural Bank for Rural Development, S.R. Aluru announced a proposal to open 1000 Farmers Clubs during this year. The Bank had so far opened 546 Farmers Clubs he said. Other future plans of the NABARD included opening of 20 new branches, extending more finance to agriculture and self help groups, more stress in priority sector lending such as educational loans, housing loans.

The General Manager of the Bank, M.Krishna Rao, who presided over the function said that total business of the bank at the end of the present financial year was Rs.5634 crore. Total number of kisan card issued was 6,39,158 and the amount financed was Rs.1029 crore.
