Court orders seizure of vessel

CHENNAI: Justice P.R.Shivakumar of the Madras High Court has ordered seizure of a vessel following a petition that the owners had not paid wages to the crew.

C.D.Rajesh Kumar of T.V.Puram at Ponneri, the power agent of the applicants, Aung Naing Lin, Thike Soe and Myo Min Wai, who are on board the MV Vinashin Island, now anchored at the Tuticorin Port, submitted that the applicants, all Myanmarese nationals, joined duty in July this year. They were working under difficult circumstances. The vessel was not being maintained properly.
