Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The US-based Yale University has launched an India initiative with a corpus of 75 million US dollars (about Rs.375 crore) to enhance its engagement with the country.

“The Yale India Initiative is the broadest and most ambitious interdisciplinary effort of its kind and will create new faculty positions and new curriculum across the disciplines of arts and sciences,” said Yale University president Richard C. Levin at a function here.

“The initiative will expand the University’s visibility in and engagement with India and South Asia through intensified student recruitment efforts, faculty and student exchanges, research partnerships, and leadership education,” he added.
