KRISHNAGIRI: A five-day ‘life skill training’ began here on Tuesday for the employees working in special schools under the Integrated Child Development Scheme in Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts here. The training programme is aimed to inculcate self confidence and braveness among child labourers rescued from their work places and to encourage them to develop multi-skills through education. Collector V.K. Shanmugam inaugurated the training programme and asked the employees to work with dedication and bring light in the lives of these former child labourers. The training programme was conducted by the Chennai based IL & FS Education Technology Services Limited with financial help from International Labour Organisation. The programme is being held at Vidivelli Training Centre at Sundampatti in Krishnagiri. About 75 workers, 2 lecturers from District Teachers Training Centre and 4 trainers from Sarva Siksha Abhiyan Scheme participated. MeasuresTo eradicate child labour, the State Government is taking various measures, and particularly in Krishnagiri District, the scheme is implemented with full vigour. ICDS Directors S. Priya, N.
