NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University launched an SMS service for its students across the country and its staff on Tuesday. The facility was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai on the IGNOU campus here. “It is a pilot project in the run-up to the dissemination of study material and conducting tests on mobile phones,” said an official. The service will enable IGNOU to send alerts to students about various developments. At present, 1.85 million students are enrolled with the University. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
