Bangalore: Sudatta, which is a support group of adoptive parents, is observing the month of November as “adoption awareness month”. As part of the month-long programme, the organisation is holding a workshop for teachers on November 21. According to a release by Saraswati, founder of the group, the workshop on the theme of “Adoption and Education” hopes to create an understanding among educators on “differently built” families with adoptive children and create awareness on the changing practises in adoption. “Students need to tackle adoption-related situations that may come up in the class room and impact the learning environment,” said Dr. Saraswati. The workshop will be held from 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Institute of Agriculture Technologies on Queen’s Road. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
