Kozhikode: The Kerala Imams Council has demanded that the Centre appoint an independent agency to probe into the mass killings, fake encounters and mysterious explosions talking place in the country. Council chairman Karamana Ashraf Moulavi said here that anti-Muslim Intelligence officers and political party leaders having a Sangh Parivar bend of mind were responsible for the arrest of innocent Muslim youths and keeping them in detention for almost a year in connection with the blast cases at Hyderabad and Mecca Masjid. He also accused the Sangh Parivar of trying to destabilise the country by stockpiling weapons and carrying out explosions such as the Malegaon incident. These organisations were executing anti-national activities in the interest of imperialist and Zionist forces. Cause of concernIt has become a cause for concern when Sanyasis, Acharyas and even senior officers in the Army were masterminding and training extremists. It was the Muslim leadership in the State that was launching a campaign against Muslim extremism. The recovery of a large number of country-made bombs from Kannur in a month had shocked the people of the State. The police should interrogate the Sangh Parivar leaders to trace the source of bomb manufacturing units, the Moulavi said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
